Botox

Botox was FDA-approved for the treatment of chronic migraines in 2010. Chronic migraine means people must experience 15 or more “headache days” monthly to qualify for insurance coverage. The treatment involves a small amount of medicine placed throughout 31 injection sites spanning seven muscle groups known to contribute to headache pain. We use a tiny needle, and the procedure only takes about 15 minutes. This treatment is performed every 12 weeks and has significantly reduced the frequency and severity of migraine attacks.

After the Treatment

Botox, or botulinum toxin, is a medication that can be used to treat chronic migraines and certain types of headaches. When injected into specific head and neck muscles, it temporarily paralyzes them, reducing muscle contractions and blocking pain signals.
